Compress a video for WhatsApp
Shrink MP4 and MOV videos to a target size (for example 10 MB for Discord, 16 MB for WhatsApp) or a quality level, in your browser. Free and private.

Your files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
WhatsApp compresses videos on its own and rejects very long ones. Fitting your clip under 16 MB at 720p before sending keeps it sharp instead of letting WhatsApp crush it. Runs on your device.
How it works
- Drop a video.
- Enter a target size or choose a quality, and optionally a maximum resolution.
- Compress and download.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded, so there is no size limit and it works offline once loaded.
Frequently asked questions
What is the WhatsApp video limit?
Media sent as video is capped around 16 MB and 3 minutes on most versions; as a document, up to 2 GB. WhatsApp status videos are limited to 30 seconds (60 in some regions).
Is it really free and private?
Yes. Everything runs in your browser with open-source code; nothing is uploaded. No account, no watermark, no file-size limit other than your device's memory.
How long does it take?
Roughly real time or faster on a laptop: a 1-minute 1080p clip takes about 30–90 seconds. Phones are slower. The engine is downloaded once (about 30 MB) and cached.
Will the quality drop?
Compressing to a small target from a large file will show softness in fast motion. Reducing resolution to 720p first usually looks better than a very low bitrate at 1080p.
