About WandFile and privacy
Every tool here runs on your own device using open-source engines compiled for the browser: FFmpeg for audio and video, libheif and jSquash for images, pdf-lib and pdf.js for PDFs. There is no server to pay for, so there is nothing to charge you for, and no place where your files could be stored or leaked.
The trade-off is honesty: the speed depends on your device, and a few things that need heavy servers (like faithful PDF to Word conversion) are not offered because we cannot do them well in the browser.
Privacy
WandFile processes files on your own device. We never receive, store or see your files. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookie-free, privacy-first counter of page views; it never sees file names or contents. No accounts, no cookies, no advertising trackers. If advertising is added in the future it will be disclosed on this page.
Open source engines
FFmpeg (LGPL/GPL, compiled to WebAssembly by the ffmpeg.wasm project), libheif (LGPL), jSquash codecs from the Squoosh project (Apache 2.0), pdf-lib (MIT), pdf.js (Apache 2.0), JSZip (MIT), node-qrcode (MIT). Each runs locally in your browser.
