Is it really free and private?
Yes. There is no server: your browser does the conversion with open-source code. Your files never leave your computer or phone, which also means there is no file-size limit and it works offline once the page has loaded.
Will I lose quality converting AVIF to PNG?
Nothing is lost going to PNG, but PNG was not built for photos: a 500 KB AVIF often becomes 5 MB as PNG. Choose JPG instead unless you need transparency or exact pixels.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in Safari and Chrome. Very large batches may be limited by your phone's memory; convert in groups if a batch fails.
Does the transparency survive?
Yes. AVIF and PNG both support an alpha channel, so transparent areas stay transparent.
